Your Role in Our Mission:                                      

The Director of Fraternity Growth is broadly charged with strategically and sustainably growing Alpha Gamma Delta in number and strength. The Director of Fraternity Growth leads the membership and extension teams to analyze, implement and drive both the Fraternity’s extension strategy and chapter growth strategy.

Your success will be defined by your ability to share the story of Alpha Gamma Delta, lead a team of employees to produce quality work against hard deadlines, grow our collegiate membership in both number of total collegians and number of chapters, build collaborative and productive relationships with staff and volunteers and be committed to meet the needs of a growing, changing organization. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serve as the primary connection point between all stakeholders to drive volunteer and staff collaboration on matters pertaining to Fraternity growth
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization; work with staff leadership team and volunteers to recognize internal and external opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Work in partnership with the appropriate volunteers and staff to develop and lead the Fraternity’s chapter growth strategy, including but not limited to:
    • The implementation and evaluation of the Fraternity’s Membership Selection Policy and Procedures
    • The development and maintenance of recruitment resources related to Primary Recruitment, continuous open bidding, chapter branding and Membership Selection Policy and Procedures
    • Evaluating outside education and other training programs relating to membership growth and retention
    • The development and implementation of Fraternity recruitment training programs
  • Work in partnership with the appropriate volunteers and staff to develop and lead the Fraternity’s extension strategy
  • Supervise all details of campus extension visits, application development, presentations, new chapter recruitment, new chapter establishment, installations and alumnae events associated with extension
  • Oversee extension servicing strategy which includes: identifying the timing and number of Leadership Consultants at various stages of the extension effort, developing the expectations and resources for a successful extension, and ensuring the collection of necessary data through reporting mechanisms
  • Travel frequently for exploratory visits, extension presentations, new chapter establishments and other meetings as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus professionals, regional leadership associations and pertinent professional groups
  • Evaluate the impact of Alpha Gamma Delta’s growth efforts and provide regular reports on membership statistics and trends to the CEO and International Council
  • Lead and coach team members through both one-on-one and team interactions in executing Fraternity growth strategies
  • Oversee staff development and work with Volunteer Service Team counterparts on budgeting for membership growth and extension
  • Serve as a member of the staff Leadership Team which oversees the development and implementation of the strategic plans for the overall Fraternity
  • Travel, as requested, as a representative of the Fraternity for the Association of Fraternity Advisors Annual Meeting, chapter visits, Convention, university presentations and other purposes as needed

  • Flexible; able to adapt to changing needs and shift priorities as needed while keeping stakeholders informed
  • A team player, able to collaborate closely with others while exhibiting a positive attitude
  • Able to demonstrate sound decision-making in high-pressure conditions with minimal oversight
  • Detail-oriented, organized and confident with the ability to generate solutions and creatively solve problems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three to five years’ experience in a related field
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Membership in Alpha Gamma Delta required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) a bonus
  • Ability and willingness to travel as a representative of the Fraternity when needed
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry items up to 35 lbs

Supervisory Responsibilities: Membership Growth Team and Extension Team

Job-Status: Exempt, salaried

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
